Precious pure art deco
1950's chic, black patent leather daytime purse by Theodor California,
one of the finer makers of purses in the 1940's 50's era. I believe
the handle to be bakelite but cannot be positive, the knobs securing
the handle appear to be brass and show some tarnish. The clasp
is goldtone and looks good, interior zipper also appears to be
brass. The lining is very soft and supple and appears to be leather,
width 11", 9" tall, 13" w/handle and across bottom
is 3 1/2". The condition is very good on this lovely rare
Theodor handbag.
